dialer/contacts quirks

couple of things i don't care for on the s3 (tmobile).
1. when i'm in the phone dialer, and i start spelling someone's name "J O H ..." it brings up all my contacts with "john" in their names... it only brings up *mobile* numbers (unless a contact doesn't have a mobile number). so if john crumb has a home and work number, i don't get to see them. i only see john crumb's mobile number. i don't remember this being the case on the original galaxy s 1, but that was a couple of phones ago so i'm not sure.

2. i have my main office number as a contact. (123) 333-5000. "office." i also have many individual people at my office as contacts, with their extensions: (123) 333-5000 ext. 1234. "john crumb." on all my prior phones--including a galaxy s1-- if somebody called me from the office, it would show up as the "office" contact as desired. however on the s3, it shows up as the first alphabetical contact containing (123) 333-5000. so since "crumb" comes before "office" alphabetically, phone calls to or from (123)333-5000 ALWAYS show up as john crumb, not "office."

i even tried renaming the "office" contact to "_office" to make it first in the list alphabetically, but
A. that removes the convenience of spelling "office" in the dialer to call the office
B. as i start typing (123) 333... in the dialer, "_office" does come up in the drop-down list of numbers, but as soon as i dial it, it says i'm on a call with john crumb. even if i dial directly from the _office contact, the call says i'm connected to john crumb.
C. neither A nor B matter, since incoming calls still show up as john crumb.

are either of these adjustable settings i'm missing?
