Dialer icon deleted from home screen

Good afternoon
I have somehow deleted the dialer/phone icon from the home screen of my HTC one M7 running 5.02
Any help to return it would much appreciated.

If you still see it in your app drawer then just long-press it and place it on your home screen.

no its is not in the "App draw"

this is not any good because the "dialer" is not in the app page/draw

You could try looking for the dialer app in the "all" tab, scrolling to the left in your app drawer. In some devices the dialer is called "phone".

If i go to the settings > then Apps the Dialer is in the "All" tab but not in the "Running" tab but there is no obvious way to start it "running"

Ok. It means that it's not disabled. In your app drawer there should be an app called "phone". Look for it in all your folders (if you have any).

You could try something. Tell someone to call you and don't answer. Play with the missed call notification (longpress and tap on app info, or tap on the notification to open the dialer). See if that helps. Also, reboot your phone.
