Dialpad disappears

When I am in a call, the dialpad disappears. How do I get it to come up if I need it?

When you put the phone to your face it disappears so you don't cheek dial. If it doesn't come back a second or two after you take the phone away from your face, your proximity detector is detecting something. It could be a case that's covering the sensor or it could be a defective sensor (which is covered under the warranty). The sensor is up near the earpiece (the little grid that you listen to phone calls in).
