Did anyone notice the jabs at Apple through the conference?

Well... let's be honest, who didn't, right?

Quite Black - Very Silver - Really Blue. Nice touch, Google. No unsightly camera bump.

And, to me, the biggest jab was the fact that Apple are no longer the only company who develop their own software and hardware. This will be a major blow to Apple, and will finally get more attention to Google. Surely people are tired of buying the same re-hashed phones each year or 2?

let me know what your thoughts on the conference, and the impact this could have on competitors (namely Apple).

:)

The ultimate jab will be thrown when Google doesn't produce an "s" style upgrade and instead properly overhauls the next Pixel model.

Honestly I don't see this having any impact on Apple. Google is too late to the game, Apple has a had a 9 almost 10 year head start on them in this arena. This is also the first Google announcement that I've seen where there has been huge amounts of disappointment and negativity towards these phones. I mean look at this forum there's hardly any new threads and the preorder thread is a ghost town where as last year the 6p preorder thread was blowing up.

Even if the camera on these phones is what it's trumped up to be umm how long did take for Elgoog and its hardware partners to finally release a flagship quality camera which still doesn't have OIS BTW.

Also the names of the colors is stupid and the jabs were needless maybe if Google can actually meet or surpass the sales of the iPhone then they can talk but they're not even close and the only way they can claim such a high market share is due to the market being flooded with all these crappy cheap POS phones running Android.

Yes I do use iOS and have a 7+ but I was excited about these phones yet after seeing everything confirmed it's pretty disappointing to say the least.

Google will try to get the Pixel name out there but I think it's too little too late this far in the game they should have done this back in 2012/2013 maybe even sooner.

Oh well we'll see if this phone creates even more fragmentation.

It's part of the marketing but I found it pretty funny, especially when they said something along the lines of "3.5mm headphone jack satisfyingly... not new". I laughed pretty hard at that
