Did anyones stock message app just update and break theme support?

My phone automatically updated the stock text message app last night and everything went complete wonky...

I'm hoping they fix this soon you can barely read what's on the convo list now on a theme :/

I just looked at mine and an update is available but I haven't updated it and now I probably won't lol...that's the big reason I don't have anything set to automatically update.

Updated my stock messaging app this morning. Use MS launcher and Samsung high contrast theme. I don't have any issues with either. In fact, the badges seem to work better/more consistently. Happy with update.

Updated manually just now. Looks the same as always. No issues here but I'm in Holland with T-Mobile.

after uninstalling the update, reinstalling the update and doing a reboot everything is back to normal...

so happy cause I don't like having duplicate apps (like 2 sms apps is so unnecessary)

Where do you update the stock message app?
The only one I see is the facebook message app that has a update.
Is that the one you are referring to?

there is an app called "Galaxy Apps" this is where the Samsung Apps get their updates after opening the app you click the 3dot menu and select my apps and then updates

Yes, mine did and then it was showing a blank white screen as my background instead of my theme. Tried reapplying theme, still nothing. Then I turned the phone off for 5 minutes. When I turned it back on, my theme was back with my text messages.

Yes, I'm aware of the Galaxy Apps. And had looked there. Mine doesn't show it there for updating, don't even see it under all my apps. Unless its called something I didn't recognize.

Updated mine today and no issues.

Does the new update reenable the ability to set custom notifications? Not ringtons but unique notifications for individual contacts?

Fwiw, I don't see an update on any of the S8's or S8+ on my accounts. I'm with AT&T.

no it does not, I believe that the "contacts" app should be updated to enable that feature (that's where I used to set the custom text tones)
