Did everyone's Google search widget change back to the transparent KitKat widget?

A few days ago my Search widget changed from Lollipop white back to the old frosted transparent widget. Is this a Sense modification HTC rolled out or is it just me?

At&t One M8, Sense 6, KitKat

Verizon One M8 , Sense 6, Lollipop with transparent, frosted widget here.

Mine didn't, but I use Nova Prime and have that option when I want.

Mine is the transparent one. I seem to recall it changing at some point, but I didn't really pay attention to when it changed, to be honest.

Interesting. It must be HTC's launcher then. Mine is still white in Nova but transparent in the Blinkfeed launcher. Thanks for the input!

Edit: actually, when I add a new search widget in Nova it's transparent there too. Strange.

Mine is transparent as well. I personally like it better than the white KitKat one.

Even my Note 3 SM-N900 running Lollipop 5.0 recieved this weird bug. Even upon clearing data and reinstalling Google App updates, it still remains Kitkat style (translucent) rather than Lollipop style (pure white) as my device already runs Lollipop.

I guess it's with the Google App itself and not about the device or its firmware. If i uninstall all updates to Google App and go back to the factory version, it shows Lollipop style. So, only upon updating the app to latest version it reverts.
