So Dell has the DINC for Free. I am a bb user and have no Android experience. Is the DINC worth getting now?

Is there a better choice on Verizon?

Did Froyo screw up the DINC?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I own an incredible, and was a former blackberry user myself. There are a couple better choices on Verizon as of right now. But for the money the phone is awesome. I have never been so content with a phone in my life. Froyo didn't make it worse, it added features and runs smother than eclair 2.1 the only thing you might want to do when you buy the phone is buy an extended life battery, the battery life is a tad short

I have owned at least a dozen blackberry's in total from the pearl up to the tour. I loved my blackberry's! If your wanting a strictly business oriented and nothing else/ meaning battery life and emails all day long (no apps/tinkering/customizing) then by all means stick with the blackberry!

As far as if you want an DInc. the true test (at least In my opinion) is to go and stick the DInc and the Droid X in your pocket. (difference is the screen size) If you want something that is large and has plenty of space go with the X but if you want something a little smaller you can not beat the DInc. at this point. They both are powerhouses although I like my DInc better b/c of size. *something else you might want to check out is the Droid Pro. It is set up size wise like a curve/tour/bold and it has the keyboard at the bottom of the phone like a BB!*
Froyo runs smooth on mine and wouldnt change it back to 2.1 personally

Hope this helps U make the decision!

I would not get rid of my dinc for anything it is my favorite easiest to carry phone.Mine runs froyo great too.

Former BB Storm user here. I've had the Incredible since launch and wouldn't trade it for anything at Verizon right now. Wicked cool phone that is miles beyond any BlackBerry. The only device tempting me is the rumored Incredible HD. If I were buying a phone today I would buy the Incredible.

FWIW - I have not seen a phone on VZW yet that I would trade the DInc for. The only thing that gets my goat is that I got my wife one about a month and a half ago for full contract price! Grrrr - $200 is something that can always come in handy! ;)

The only thing I would even consider trading my Incredible for will be the Incredible HD that is supposed to be coming out sometime soon. Before this phone I was getting a new phone every couple of months because I would get bored. I've had this thing since May and I am still satisfied. It really is a sweet device!

DINC is absolutely still worth getting. Its still a powerhouse phone. Just because the DINC HD is coming out doesn't make it obsolete. It will have a 4" inch screen and a front facing camera. Not really much to write off the DINC. Yes it may have a faster processor but 200mhz. If you are rooted you can overclock your current DINC if you wanted. Basically if you are looking for a good deal then the DINC is still worth it. I was also a BB tour user about 1.5 months ago and glad I made the switch

I also came to Android from BB. I bought the dinc the first day it went up for sale on VZWs site. This device is amazing. Froyo absolutly did not ruin this phone. Cant beat Froyos JIT.

The only thing that I can see that has ruined this device (if there is anything) is the bloat that Verizon puts on it. The last update flashed a useless Verizon app store IMO and put mor apps on it that can not be uninstalled with out Root.

Flashing custom ROMs can take care of this, and with the amount of ROMs out there for the Incredible, bloatware is long gone.

As many stated above, in my opinion, there is not one device currently being sold at Verizon that would make me give up my Incredible. Not one.

MAKE THE SWITCH!

Echo everyone here. I came from a Storm 2 and will never go back to BB. Better phone and save more than $25.00 a month on service fees between VZW and my exchange server. I am again eligible for an upgrade and will be waiting until I can get a 4G version of something similar to a DINC once my area gets 4G. 2011 maybe?

My Dinc was awesome... until Verizon's November update. It has been "Low on Space" ever since and doesn't work well at all.

A friend of mine has a Dinc and has had nothing but problems since the Froyo upgrade. I'm going to root it for him next time I see him.

i don't know what the deal is with wirefly.com, but it has almost every verizon phone for less than 50$ including the Dinc and the D2 both for free

Best phone so far on vzw IMO. I've rooted and downclocked to improve battery life. Charged off (to get bump charge) 71% battery with 10+hours since unplug.. Considerably better than when I first bought the phone. Only downfall is the crappy speaker that constantly blows out, but what phone actually has speakers that are worth while?

I have the Droid X and my wide ha the Droid Incredible and we are both former BB users. Any high end Android phone would be a welcoming change from a blackberry. The DInc is an awesome phone. It is pocketable and very fast. For that price you will not regret your choice. But if you are a large person like me the DX is tops.

I had a Curve (my first BB) for a couple years. Then went to the Storm2 and before the month was out, the DInc came out. I ditched the Storm2 and I am very glad I did. The DInc is IMHO one of the best phones. I agree that the major difference between the DInc and the DX is the size. The comment earlier on was right on the money. Put them both in your pocket and decide whether the 4" display phones are not too big in your pocket or if the DInc is not to small of a screen.

If you want a physical keyboard, go with the D2. It really comes down to what you prefer, but NO, Froyo did not ruin the DInc.

My wife just replaced her Palm Pre Plus with a DInc and she is pretty happy with it.

Get it!

Just switched back to my DInc today after months of struggle with the DroidX. I love the screen of the X, but the user experience is clunky in my opinion. I blame Motorola - and their promise of Froyo fixing things just didn't materialize. I've never had issues with basic functions like email on an HTC or Samsung phone like I had with the X.

Glad to have my little friend back!
