Did Froyo Ruin the DINC? Is DINC Worth Getting?

Well I just bought a Droid Incredible yesterday. I had a really hard time deciding between the HTC and the Samsung Fascinate/Continuum. Got a pretty good price on it, of course they are free tomorrow at Best Buy. Go figure!
Anyway, the reason I decided to go with the Incredible is that the price was very reasonable ($99 after mail in rebate) and I like the size/capabilities. It will do almost everything the HD will probably do and I don't have to pay $100-$200 more especially since LTE won't be in my area for a while.

D-Inc is free right now from Dell:

DROID INCREDIBLE by HTC for Verizon Wireless - Dell Mobility Store

Like said in all the ^^ post the Dinc is the best phone on Verizon unless you want a larger screen or physical keyboard.

I wouldnt give my INC up for nothing out right now.If you know how to maintain good batt life with root its nothing but incredible. Inc hd will be even better with 4g.I have used every phone on vzw and the inc is on top by a long shot. The only thing that will sway someone would be screen size. (Inc is a perfect size for me)I dont wish for a tablet in my pocket.blur is buggy.sense is a step up.

I don't have a DINC but I know someone who does and he absolutely loves the phone. Most people who have had the phone from anything I can see have been incredibly satisfied, there are very few bad things to say about it other than possibly battery life, but that's a common concern with all smartphones these days.

Yes I saw that the Incredible is free, but it is only available to 2 year upgrades, and I got mine on a one year renewal private sale which I think I can do only through Verizon.

So far, I'm really liking most aspects of the phone. I HATE the text messaging, am looking for a good app for that.

Switched from Storm 2 and have not looked back. IMO BB and Android aren't even in the same league. Only suck on the device is the VZW bloatware. I rooted and went Virtuous ROM on mine, that took care of that ****. Perfect!

Very happy with my DINC.

Owned BB Pearl, Storm and Storm2. DINC is far superior. Whenever iPhone is available from Verizon...I will likely pass. I have my almost 16gb music library on the micro sd and can go to 32gb. Many great apps are free. Get the 1750 battery. -A very happy DINC user

Get a dinc i got one and never have regretted getting having had since July 2,

Look at the phones some of these dinc users are coming from. I loved my eris after coming from a bb storm. Get a dx put launcher pro on it and enjoy the ride

The DInc is awesome on Froyo. The X is also a kick ass phone too. I don't think you can go wrong with either one, as long as you choose the size that's right for you. Personally, my DI is the best phone I've ever owned. Running Uncommon Sense 1.1 Froyo and it screams. And everything works like it needs to.

Handcent SMS.

The dinc is worth full price charley.....

I can honestly say that I have thought about doing this for my wife to get her away from her Tour, but just like I was, she is skeptical. SHHHH, just a lot more stubborn....;)

I've had my Storm I for 21 miserable months now, and have been advising people to go Android over iPhone since the EVO4 was released this summer. The fact remains, you can't beat an HTC Android device. The Sense UI alone (not even discussing the hardware) puts HTC above everyone else. And then HTC Sync for Outlook sync and remote wipe capabilities...it just keeps going on.

But I myself have toyed with getting the D-Inc, or waiting for the Inc HD to come out. But tell me something -- I'm in Buffalo, NY, which is not one of the initial LTE cities. That means the Inc HD would not work in my area, correct? If so, I could grab a D-Inc and rock it for 6-8 months, and then sell it off contract to someone and splurge for the Inc HD when LTE comes to my city, wouldn't you think?

im sorry dude but this question is border line ******ed.

if you dont live in a lte area, youll just be using their 3g network until lte hits you. itd be even more ******ed for verizon to sell a phone that wont work in over half the country.

I guess you don't understand that Verizon LTE devices will support both LTE and CDMA, of which they already have a very expansive network, for a very long time? They've already stated that voice will continue to work only over their CDMA network, with data being the only thing that will work over LTE.

So, your response is really, well, crap.

And everyone knows that has both the dinc and dx currently NOT had
But still have them both .

The dinc on 2.2 froyo ,,,blows the dx away and is the ninjas choice ha ha :D

I've had the DInc since day one of release. Best mobile I've had yet and Froyo made it better.

The only thing I don't like about Froyo on it is that it no longer properly reads tags on WMA music files (MP3s are fine). It's not a huge issue, but it sure is annoying when you want to browse your music library by specific information types.

Are you retraded too?

My response clearly says it'll be using their 3g network which is their revdo network, until lte is available in their region. Therefore your repeating me and your response is crap.

Try reading the post right before you respond
