Did I break my Chrome?

After rooted my nexus 4 I attempted to use "integrate update into system" function in link2sd on Chrome (I know I know it is kind of pointless to have link2sd in nexus 4).

Anyway, it didn't work. It is kind of expected since I never got this to work on any device running android 4 or later. In my experience before nexus 4 (and android 4.2), all I need to do after a failed app integration is to reboot the device and reinstall the update.

However on nexus 4, now whenever I reboot the device, Chrome will not run. Updating will not begin either. I will have to reboot it again, then the updating will start, then Chrome is fixed, till next time I need to reboot.

So anyone know what is wrong and is there a way to fix this (other than restore to a earlier backup)?

Thanks,

I tried to manually replace the apk file in /system/app with my backup, which didn't work.

Then I just deleted the apk in /system/app, reboot, then uninstall the update. I then reinstalled it (as a user app) directly from the google play store. And that fixed my problem.

I am not sure if I want to turn it back into a system app.
