Did I brick my DX?

I was prepping my rooted DX for the 2.2 update by restoring the system apps I had removed from the phone's /system/app folder (blockbuster, amazonmp3, cityid, etc). I downloaded a zip folder from here http://www.chadhaney.com/droidXDefault/#c that contained the system .apk files. Not remembering which files I deleted, I simply used rootexplorer to mount the r/w and then copied all the files from the folder I downloaded, and pasted them into the system/app folder.

When that was done, my ADW immediately force closed and all I was able to see was the banner with my wifi status, battery and time...

I turned off the phone and restarted it. It is now stuck in a mode where it alternates between showing me the bootup word "Droid"
and the Droid red "eye."

Before having done any of this, I ran a full backup using Titanium.

So, what do you think? Did I brick the phone? If so, what can I do to restore it to working condition?

if you ran a titanium backup, might as well try going to factory.

Shut the phone off.
While holding home button, turn phone on.
Continue holding home until you see the droid and !-in-a-triangle picture
press search.
use volume down to get to factory reset
use camera button to select
volume down to "yeah, i really want to reset" option
camera again to go.

good luck!

This is probably going to get moved to the DX hack section, but let me just give you props for feeling comfortable enough to manipulate your phone like this. I just don't feel educated/bold enough to try this on my device. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

some of the apps are required by the system in order for it to run properly, like the backup assistant for example. If you just copied all the apps willy-nilly from the stock zip file, I could see how this would happen. You could try doing a factory reset to see if that helps, but I'm pretty sure you still need to change the permissions on the files you copied to be recognized as system files.

So your most likely fix is to sbf it.

I would just SFB back to 2.1. No need to waste time. Your gonna loose your apps and such anyways
