Did I delete contacts from my private phone and not from the shared work gmail account?

We have a shared gmail account for me and my two other co workers and unfortunately it synced contacts when I added it to my phone today. We had so many contacts my ocd couldn't handle it, so I clicked unsync contacts and began deleting them from my personal phone and now I'm really worried I did something wrong because when I looked this up earlier it was confusing and now I'm not sure if I ruined everything. Sync App Data and Sync Gmail were still connected. AM I DOOMED?
