Did I make the right choice.. Note 3

I think Kilroy13 was being tongue in cheek as the G Flex is 6 inches.
I like the idea of the G Flex and only saw one in a locked display cabinet.
All I heard was the screen is not great for its size and cost. Good specs otherwise and reformable/self repairing case. It didn't really take off like I thought it would. Too expensive maybe Glad to hear someone who has one and seems to be very happy with it.

I think it's the 720p screen that's a big sale killer and customer satisfaction killer for the G Flex. Either somebody at LG really screwed up making that decision or they just couldn't find a way (at least not a way that wasn't really expensive) to make a 1080p flexible screen. The display quality is poor, and when someone buys a 6in phone display quality really matters.

It's not like having a 720p Moto X. The size of the X screen makes the resolution difference between 720p and 1080p less noticeable (although you still can see it), but it's very noticeable on a 6 inch screen and the G Flex really suffers for it. Also the Moto X is about half the price of the G Flex and people buying the Moto X are not necessary looking for the best screen as one of their top priorities.

But someone buying a phone with a 6 inch display definitely cares about the display and it should not be a place the company chooses to skimp on specs and quality. And when you add the high price point, 720p is just unacceptable to most potential buyers. It's too bad they choose to put out such a low quality screen on what could have been a big seller.

Maybe they had little choice because perhaps they couldn't produce a better flexible screen yet, but then they should've lowered the price at least. That way they could've got people hooked on the flexible screen and self-repair cases, gotten good reviews and happy customers, and then when they could produce a phone with a good display, people would be flocking to them. As it is, even with the good qualities of the phone, most reviewers have warned people the phone is not worth it because of the display. I personally would never want to look at a 6 inch display in 720p on a daily basis - not even if it had an S-Pen! :)

yes 720p. Doesn't sound bad when 720p was the norm on 32" TV's only 3 years ago.
Still, LG really made a bad choice there. Maybe it was the curve as you say, so then they brought it out unfinished. It's not like LG can't make screens. But maybe once you have one it's good enough.

Yeah. it would've sounded crazy a few years ago that a 720p screen wouldn't be good enough but once you see the difference between that and 1080p, it's hard to go back. Since we hold phones much closer to our eyes than TVs, it ends up being very noticeable on larger phone screens. I'm not one of those people who thinks we (or I at least) need a 4K display on a phone screen but maybe I'll change my mind about that in a few years!
