Did Samsung change there internet browser icon or do I have a Virus?

I added a adblocker browser to my note 5 and when it asked me to choose my new default browser I noticed the a purple google chrome looking icon that I've never seen before, it took the place of the samsung internet browser icon but I haven't been able to find that Icon anywhere on google images. Just wondering if it's normal or I have some kinda Virus?

Welcome to the forums. Samsung's stock browser is a shade of purple. I don't recall it looking like the Chrome browser, though.

Thanks for the response's and yeah the samsung browser icon is purple with earth in the middle but this looks way different. Here's a pic

Thanks Lance! I do have the material dark theme on my Note 5 so I checked the default theme and it looks like the normal samsung internet browser I just never noticed it because I always use google chrome. Thanks Again

Hello im facing the same issue suddenly i have this browser icon without change or update. before i had the classic blue world logo it changed arround 1 hour ago.

Not really thats why it made me suspicious and im using the samsung browser only so i could tell in an instant

It's definitely the new Samsung Internet icon. I have been using it instead of Chrome for a week or so and like it. Especially because the fingerprint to sign into websites works with it

I am confused, same thing happened to me on April 15, 2016. Have always used the internet browser with the blue earth icon but without changing anything, it is gone and replaced with the purple/white icon. There is a notification on my pull down that said internet for samsung was successfully installed on 04-15-2016. I did not request the change and can not change it back.

It sound like the Galaxy Apps store is configured to update apps automatically, so that's probably why it updated without asking you first. Google Play has the same options - auto or manual. I like to set mine to manual so I can see if the update is something I want.

For some apps, you can uninstall updates via Application Manager, but not sure if that applies to those installed from the Galaxy App store.

Chrome updates automatically now too even if you have auto update off.

A little off topic: but does the ad blocker with the Samsung browser work. What are the negatives-if any?

I've been using the amp feature that Google just brought out. Works like a charm just not enough content yet.
