Did they change how 'My Movies' works?

The default android movie library, aka the small red film cell icon. There used to be a conspicuous option in the menu for choosing videos on your storage space, but now you have to go to the android menu (three dots in top right) and choose "Personal Videos." Is there a way to have Personal video folders as a full screen option, with categories and thumbails? If not, does anyone know of a good, clean app that does this just for videos you loaded?
