Hey, all: GREAT NEWS!!! Radio Shack has the Atrix2 in today's ad (the regular Sunday ad on November 20th, not the black friday ad) for free! As long as you are within your 30-day window, you can go get your money back without having to worry about the black friday hassle!!!
 
Don't even have to go anywhere! I just called 1.800.BEST.BUY and got my refund processed. When you ask them to price match they will call Radio Shack to see if they have it in stock and confirm the price, so it's a good idea to have the phone number to a store or two handy as not all of them have them. The lady I dealt with was pretty cool, she called two stores for me and the second one had it. She submitted the price match request and said that it could take a week to 10 days but it will be credited back to my CC. She gave me a case# and said if I don't see that it's credited after 10 days to call back and give them to case# to follow up.

I asked her if it was still up in the air as to IF the refund will happen, she said no, it's just a matter of WHEN.

I am now $53 richer than I was when I woke up! BB is only 2 miles away, so I drove there, instead of over the phone. My associate also had to call a couple stores to find one in stock, and they had to match it at $.01 because they couldn't put a zero in for the price, but it's all good, now! :)

I am happy that I was able to help my new friends, too!
 
Unfortunately I had a few pitchers of margaritas today. I will probably stop at best buy tomorrow on my way home from work. Glad to hear that best buy isn't giving anyone a hard time about price adjusting.

Haha. Yeah man I was surprised it went as smooth as it did for me over the phone. I was actually just calling to see if it was possible to get the price match to save myself the trip if the answer was no, but then she not only said yes but said she'd process it for me. Sweet! I wasn't hurting for the money so no need to go into the store.

They do! I don't know if they will after the fact like this but I know many people got their Atrix 2 from AT&T and had it matched to Best Buys $50.

You are allowed to upgrade, then return within the 30-day window, with one additional upgrade left. I checked this before I bought the Atrix2, because I was worried "what if I hate this phone?". You could go back to ATT and see if they would price match. If they won't tell them you are returning the phone. Then, head to radio shack. A hassle, but you are talking $100+, right?

No, that was the other thing I checked out. My wife was completely off contract because she hadn't had a new phone in over three years, so I made sure that if she picked up a phone with a data plan, hated it and returned it, would she still be tied to the two-year contract with data.(?) The answer was very clear: no, she would return to month-to-month, and would only pay for the data for the onemonth, or portion of. I did all of this in an on-line chat with ATT and I saved the conversation with the associate when I was finished, just in case.

Oh lord, those chat folks are comedy. I almost got an aneurism a week ago dealing with them. We had some issues with our bill, they were more concerned with reciting policy than solving the problem, I got nowhere. Immediately called Customer Care and ended up not only getting $75 taken off our bill but also got paid $15 to upgrade my sons data plan to 2gb for the month. I will never chat with them again and surely won't believe anything they say. But what you said does sound logical....now if that applies to this guy is another story.

Yeah, I don't trust any of them, but that's why I did it via chat. It would be very hard for them to say they weren't going to honor it, wheni have the printout. On the other hand, this is one reason I am very loyal to ATT: Customer service has been outstanding ANYTIME there has been a problem with my account, even when it wasn't their fault (i.e., having a son who went bonkers downloading things on a non-data-plan dumbphone!). Unless something really bizarre happens, I don't see myself leaving anytime soon.

I actually just picked up the Atrix 2 and Thrill today for FREE at Best Buy (RS Price Match). :D

No you don't not within 30 days. You return the device within 30 days of purchase on AT&T and then have them reverse the upgrade. They get on the phone and leave a message for AT&T with the mobile number and phone IMEI and then the reversal is processed within 3-5 business days (almost always takes the full 5 the times I have done this and followed up on it for customers) Unfortunately you cant go buy your replacement device until your line is eligible for upgrade again. :(

You're welcome, the process is a royal pain in the but because we never get notified weather a reversal was accepted or not and have to basically do an upgrade check on the line in question to see of it went through. Very inefficient system, they ask us for a callback number no idea why they don't call us back when they are done weather they accept it or not.
 
I will have to see if our local RS have them in stock so I can price match while I'm at work tomorrow... I'm all about getting a phone for free :)
