I was looking at my charging craddle this evening and noticed it had, 350 mah li-ion printed on it. Humm....must have stand alone charging capabilities. Sure enough, it will charge the Gear S without being plugged in. This is great for the on the go rechargeres! It's got enough capacity for one full charge. Blue light must mean charged? Because it's plugged in now by itself, and it's got a red light glowing. Anyway, I'm sure most knew about this feature already, but sharing because of my breakthrough tonight. Hahaha. I've only owned for less than a week yet, so im still learning.

Yes. It does. Everyone raves about it. Just watch out for aftermarket chargers...they are usually chargers only. No batt.

It really only charges 50% depending where you are. If you're at 5%, it'll take you to about 55%. I bought a second one so I could have 100% capacity. Also be careful when putting it on and taking it off, the prongs break easily.

I bought an aftermarket charger only one for main usage and use the oem as a take along just in case.
Also the oem is shaped so you can actually wear the watch while it's charging, though you have to adjust the band
