Did you use Verizon Backup Assistant to port over your contacts

HI Guys,

How did you guys get your old contacts off your old phone to the fascinate? Did you use the Verizon Backup Assistant tool?

When I bought mine I had an old Razor and they were having trouble figuring out how to transfer everything. I told them it was a dealbreaker and that I was going to lunch to let them figure it out. When I returned they said they did it via Bluetooth.

I used backup assistant.

I used Backup Assistant also. Actually was prompted during the initial setup to do so. Couldn't have been easier!

Did not use Backup Assistant as it was not available for my WinMo phone, apparently. I now use a program called gsyncit to sync my outlook contacts, calendar, tasks to my google calendar. When I set up the phone I told it to use my google account and the contacts and everything downloaded perfectly. BTW I did not like the stock calendar, etc that came on the phone so I downloaded Jorte from appbrain. Love it! Calendar syncs automatically. My tasks have to be synchronized manually and reminder alarms don't sync. This seems to be a problem with google though and not the app. gtasks also works quite well but manual sync also.
Not quite as seamless as my WinMo phone but the rest of the Android and Fascinate experience more than makes up for that, IMO.

The problem with Backup Assistant, is after you've configured it, you can never delete the dang thing and it continues to sit there and run in the background. If at all possible, I recommend one of these methods.
