Did your 100GB Google Drive promo expired on your V20?

Some of you might not know, but the V20 has a free 100GB Google Drive storage promo FOR 2 YEARS when you login to Google Drive on the app, it will ask if you want to activate it. Normally, everyone gets only 15GB. Did you use the promo, or did yours expire? Since I bought 2 V20s (I'm on my second one), I am going on 2 years of free 100GB after the other one expired. Has anyone gotten the 100GB to work again after theirs expired? How would they know? What if you factory reseted the phone, will it work?

EDIT: What model and carrier V20 do you have, and what happens when you first open Google Drive, is there a notification about the promo? Seems like some people got it, some didn't. Might be possible that if you already have a promo from somewhere else, you can't activate it yet.

I got the promo but it will not expire til November.
I don't think it will work or be extended after doing a factory reset. I did a factory reset once and it didn't. Also, I think they use our email to track it. or Maybe the IMEI or serial code of the phone? not sure.

I got a refurb V20 in February of this year. I activated the promo (by accident because I didn't know about it lol). I wonder if mine will really last 2 years. I don't use it much because all my cloud files are in another app.

I believe mine will expire in November. Thankfully I will still have storage space.

Say you use 50 gigs and your promo of 100 gigs runs out, what happens? Will you be forced to buy storage to keep your content? Remember after the two year promo it goes back to 15 gigs.

Your files will still be there but you wont be able to save/back up anymore using that storage.. So if you have 50gb, then it will be 50gb and no more til you buy or upgrade..

My old promotion expired and Google will NOT load G-Mail e-mails if your Drive space is full.. your stuff on your Google Drive account will still be there but you cannot add anything, you can only delete stuff or pay for more space.

I think the last promo was from a Samsung phone or something, but I remember I could not redeem the LG promo until after it expired (guess you can't add on top of the current promo)

Just be glad there's always the good old' microSD card slot, some phones heavily rely on the cloud (Apple and Google forcing people to use their cloud service). A 128GB card is super cheap nowadays. But it's always important to have a backup of your important stuff on the cloud. The microSD is waterproof and x-ray proof, but it can get corrupted/damaged when you remove it when the phone is still on, always turn it off when removing.

Did you buy your phone new? Did you open Google Drive? Do you already have a promo for Google Drive (check your account). What carrier do you have? My V20 is the unlocked LG-US996 version, maybe it depends on the model?

Yep bought the phone new at launch. I believe at the time when I checked into it wasn't available for Verizon customers
