Diference in 1st and 2nd gen band?

I just got a 2nd gen and the band is too small (stainless steel) and I fear I may have ruined it trying to add the extra links in .....wasn't very user friendly lol . I have the 46mm so I understand that is a 22mm band, as is the 1st gen. I'm looking on ebay, amazon, and general google searches and they aren't all labeled for the 1st or 2nd gen..my question is a 22mm band a 22mm band or do they have to be specified for the 1st or 2nd gen?
