Differences Between the Tab 3 and Tab 4 S-pens

I have 5 Samsung tablets. A 10.1 (2014) note pro, two 12.2 note pros, the newer S3 and, now, the new S4. Before I lost the S3 pen and the dog ate the S4 pen I used them interchangeably between both tablets. They seemed to have the same functionality on each tablet. Now that I have to buy two pens I am wondering if there is any functional difference between the two. I prefer the S3 black pen with the clip to the beige S4 pen with no clip. Plus, I have NEVER been able to secure the black rubber pen holder that comes with the keyboard cover to that cover (dumb).

Any recommendations for which pen has a leg up on functionality? That is, if there is a difference. Should I assume either pen will work functionally the same with either tablet?
