Differences in Android Pie

I have a Samsung S8 which I have just updated to Pie - base band XXXXXDSBA, which I believe is THE latest. When I read the reviews of all the wonderful new enhancements and try to find them they aren't there!!! I found the hidden 'P' - big deal but no different volume control, no adaptive battery settings, no single home button and several other omissions.
What have I not set up please?

In Settings (cog wheel R corner), no Battery for adaptive battery setting
In Settings no System tab
In Settings, accessibility, no Use Service
No 'pill' button on home page
In Settings, no Apps and Notifications. Just Apps OR Notifications
No lockdown mode with power button
No vertical volume control slider

These are just taken from reviews of Pie and search against my phone

- Should be Settings->Device Care->Battery Click the 3 dots in upper right, toggle for adaptive battery

Are you talking about the navigation panel? There is an option to use gestures - Settings -> Display -> Navigation Bar and make sure navigation buttons is selected instead of full screen gestures

Agreed it is not as intuitive. You can get to notifications if you click on any app in the "apps" setting section. If you long press on any app, then select app info, you can get to the notifications much quicker. The notifications section of settings is for more broad general settings. Don't know why they wanted to split it

Settings -> Lockscreen -> Secure Lock Settings Toggle for show lockdown option
