different notification sounds for calendar reminders and text

How can I have a different notification sounds for a calendar reminder, a new text message, and a missed call? It should be easy but nothing I do seems to work. Tried to search the various threads and have not found the answer.

You go into the settings for each of these individual apps, its the button on your screen that looks like 3 vertical dots ( : <--- this except 3 not 2) in there you can look for notification settings and choosing your ringtone.

I have tried that and it doesn't seem to work for me, I still get the notification sound that is on the master setting menu.

Any chance you found a way to do this? Different notification sound for texts and alerts
