Different Notification Sounds

Hello

I was interested in having different notification sounds for the various different events.

1 for email
1 for text (maybe even specific ones for certain people)
1 for voicemail
etc...

I apologize in advance if this question has already been posed. I could not find anything which would answer this issue, except for downloading apps like Handcent... but that would only take care of the SMS issue.

go into each app, messaging, gmail, etc and hit the menu button, then settings and they will be in there. I came from winmo which there was a main sounds option and you changed everything from that one screen so it took a few for my to figure out how to set each item to have a different tone

So that works for gmail & general messaging.

Is there a way to set specific text tones w/out d/l a 3rd party app?
