Different questions regarding use of Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.

Hi all.

I have just "signed up" as a new member, and I hope that you can help me out, with my questions .

1.
First of all.
Is it possible to turn off the vibration, when receiving an SMS. ?
So there is only a sound notifying me of the SMS.

2.
Is it possible to personalize contacts - so that there is a special ring tone, when a specific person calls me ?
And likewise, with SMS.
Is it possible to set a special tone, when recieving an SMS from the specific contact person ?

I think, that it was all for now ;-) ... !

In regards to your second question, have a look at this web link to a video How To Set Different Ringtones For Different Contacts - Samsung Galaxy S3 - YouTube unfortunately I can't watch the video to see if it answers your question 100% as my work filters are turned on and I can't access certain sites, but let me know if it doesnt work and we can try some other things

Hi Kevin.

Sorry but my first question was not answered by the link you sent.
There was something about a stock app which I don't know.
So I am stilling looking for a way to turn off the vibrator, when receiving a messages !

The second question was answered, as far as I can see.
But is it not possible to remove the sound for a specific person, so only of the person rings, there will be sound ?

Which app are you using for your SMS/MMS? Is it the one named 'Messaging' in the Apps drawer?

I am using the default app for SMS / Messaging.
So it must be the one you are describing .

So then what ?

In the Messaging app, when you're in the conversation view (showing the list of conversations, but not in an actual message), press the Menu button (the lighted button to the left of the physical Home button), select 'Settings', then scroll down and uncheck 'Vibrate'.
