between shoulder and cheeks. While I'm on a call I sometimes have to write things down like directions or instructions and so I put my phone between my shoulder and cheek to write, and while I do this, the screen will constantly flicker from black screen to the screen on, and when the screen is on, my cheeks will either hang up on the person or start dialing random buttons. I've tried using speakerphone but the callers are always complaining about background noise even if I'm in a quiet room . and no, I don't own any hands free hardware either, just can't afford it right now.

You can lock the screen when you are in a call. That may help some of the problems. Just click the lock button after the call connects.

Or use the speaker phone.

??? :-! ???

The root cause of the screen not sleeping is the proximity sensor in the upper left corner... It gets coated with oils from your skin and it doesn't register properly, especially if you are the type who cradles the phone between ear and shoulder. Clean the area regularly (compulsively?) with a soft cloth and make sure your screen protector has a cut out that prevents it from covering the sensor.

So... What are you asking?

Get a cheap wired ear piece as suggested or you can do like I did and get a $20 Bluetooth ear piece from Plantronics.
