Digital Clock widget shows periods instead of minutes

Hi, recently I've noticed my digital clock is showing periods instead of minutes on the widget, and I have no idea how this happened. I looked through settings of the widget and there doesn't appear to be any settings for it. Any ideas on how to fix this?

The numbers might not fit in the space of the widget. Is the widget expanded across the entire width of the display?

Thanks for your response StevenW. I'm not sure how to tell, you can see from the picture it has lots of room for the numbers to show. Could you let me know how to expand the widget? Many thanks!

EDIT: Never mind found out how! Many thanks! Just had to hold down the widget, move it a little, until resize buttons shows up on the edges of the widget. Much appreciated!
