Dilemma/Are you selling your V20?

I love the removable battery. It's going to be tough to let go my V20.

It's not as impossible to live with as one might think. I've gone back and forth. My first sealed phone was the Droid Maxx, and it had 3800 battery. It also had wireless charging and I swore I wouldn't give that up but I did.

I keep reading about reduced prices on the V20. Where are people finding them? Are these used? Or new from "anywhere except AT&T" (whose price is still an outrageous $830)?
I looked one up on eBay. Manufacturer refurbished T-Mobile phone for $240. Just don't want a seller refurbished. I got two v10s off eBay and they have been great.

Look up this on on eBay: item number 182666691082. It is ATT manufacturer refurb for $240.

I alternate using my G4 and V20 for their great cameras. I use the V20 for my daily driver and my G4 like a pad. I'm holding on to both for a while.

ebay. you'll find new and used. new in the 300 range. used for 250 or less.

Regarding the responses to my "reduced prices" question:

Ah, eBay, OK that makes sense, thanks.

Regarding removable batteries - hmm, since I never got around to buying a spare (and since the spare we bought for my wife's V10 is in a drawer somewhere), I guess a removable battery is not as important to me as I thought it was :-D

However, an SD card slot is very important to me.

Trying to sell mine. Jumped on the former Note 7 owner offer from Samsung. V20 is a great phone but value has tanked and isn't even a year old.

Yes, I could have. I found a G4 for cheap on craigslist to use for the trade in so I could sell the v20 separately. Trying to get the most I can out of the deal so in the end I'm not spending that much on the Note

I read that in another thread after I posted

Hummph

I don't worry about it resale value anymore.

I don't need to trade phones in because I know that they will never give me what I paid for it to begin with, even if it stays brand new in the box unused and unregistered.

I used to be a great big Note fan 2,3,4,5 but since they put form over function I just got tired of having to root my phone to have it the way I wanted to.

I've looked at all of the new phones and none of them really offer much more over this v20. This includes having a Amoled screen.

I don't know why you have to resort to all of the hassle just to get the Samsung but as the saying goes ' To each their own'... Good luck with it and I hope you are happy with it.

Well I chose to keep the v20 and trade in a different device in hopes of getting even more out of the deal. I'm just saying it sucks not having a well known device bc the value tanks when you look to get rid of it. I'll miss swapping batteries but I gain water resistance and wireless charging. Not important to everyone but you win some you lose some. Although the note 8 is a huge phone its a beautiful phone. Got it the way I like it without root. Not that much taller than the v20 and a little narrower. The edge swipe takes the place of the second screen bc shortcuts was all I used it for and I gain screen space. Yea the fingerprint sensor is in the worst spot but I don't even lock my phone so that's not important to me. I don't like extra steps to use my phone. I'm pretty responsible with my phones so it's never in someone else's hands that I don't trust. I could probably keep going with differences but you're right by saying "To each their own" lol. The v20 did it's job by filling in for the absence of the note series last year. I'm definitely happy with it.

i'm kinda shocked how cheap the lg v20 can be had for now. i cancelled the note 8 and will just ride this v20 out for a while longer, because it honestly is a great phone.

LG's phones seem to always depreciate faster than any other manufacturer, that's why it's not a great idea to buy them out of the gate, if you flip your phone later you'll be deeper in the hole. I'm keeping my V20 until early next year, when I'm sure I'll be able to find the v30 brand new for about half the launch price.

Though the odds are in your favor, past performance in not always a guarantee for future performance. If the V30 does well it might not drop, but again, the odds are in your favor. Either way you don't have anything to lose.

True, things could always change, but LG seems to be in a unique position. They don't have the brand loyalty and recognition of Samsung or Apple in the US, so demand doesn't stay high, meaning retailers start offering discounts quickly, but they still sell more smartphones than the 4th biggest manufacturer in the US by a large margin so there are plenty of phones on the used market, driving values down even more. Even if the V30 does relatively well for them, their situation largely remains the same in relation to the rest of the market

I will not sell mine. It's the last of it's kind, maybe the last flagship with removable battery.
I'll get a new phone when I have to renovate my contract and will keep the LG V20 too.

Same here, keeping the V20 indefinitely. It'll always be a great media player with the headphone jack, Hi-Fi DAC, micro SD slot, IR blaster, FM tuner on some models, 2nd screen music track changer, replaceable battery for unlimited usage time. Also no AMOLED burn in so this phone will age well.
