dim below minimum brightness?

is there an app or hack that allows us to adjust brightness below minimum setting? sometimes in the dark its still way too bright. Pre used to have a patch that allowed for this. thanks!

thanks ragnarokx! you've been awesome responding to all my questions. new to rooting and flashing, can I flash this .zip file over my current setup: epic experience w/baked snack kernel without ruining my current setup?

Only thing you need to worry about is this:

"Affect on permanent Root:
If you currently depend on a custom kernel's initramfs to provide permanent root, then flashing this kernel will lose root for you, because I used the stock initramfs. You can always flash right back to the other kernel after you've played with this. If you rely on the original joeykrim "one click" method of permanent root, this kernel will not interfere with that. If there is interest, I can repackage this using an initramfs that provides permanent root."

And since I don't believe there is any non-root method to do this, I'm going to move this thread over to ROMs/Hacks.

interesting. I rooted my phone using one-click method 2.2.9 as stickied on this forum. When I applied this kernel, it took out my baked snack 1.3 kernel and un-rooted my phone.

So I had to re-root and re-kernel. oh well.

Hopefully there will be a rooted performance kernel that will incorporate this fix. If I find one I'll let you know.
