I walked into Verizon today and said I have an issue with my DInc, it tells me low space all the time and keeps telling me there is an update(I am at 2.3.4 android), all the time it Looses apps, and they immediately asked for my account info and then said they want to send me a DInc2 without even trying to fix the issues. They said they have no more of them and they aren't being made and that because they have so many issues if someone comes in with an issues they just replace it if it is under warranty with the DInc 2... I know how to fix all of these but just wanted to see Verizon's opinion.

In your opinion is the incredible2 any better than the first Incredible?

The DInc2 is a great phone. Slightly faster processor, more memory, bigger screen, front facing camera. What's not to like. It's only sin was that it was not a major upgrade for anyone eligible at the time. For free it's even better.

Hmm...I might try this. I'm getting pretty tired of the missing pics and constantly restarting Sense on my DInc, but none of the new phones excite me enough to consider plopping down $100 on one.

I must have missed all the complaints about sense restarting because mine has been doing that all the time. Any word on what the cause is?

Mine did that also, on top of the million of other little glitches it had. Like not sending email from gmail when the low space message was there. I am really liking the DInc2 so far.

No clue on the Sense restarting issue. I just know that mine does it ALL the time since the GB update. Typically happens when I hit the home button after using an app (browser, facebook, GReader, etc.) for a while.

New glitch started last night. Google Talk won't open. Click it, the sign-in screen appears for a split second and then it closes again.

I had problems with my Inc and was upgraded to the Inc 2. It's great. I'm in love all over again. They are not currently sending out Inc2's under insurance though. My husbands is under a pile of shingles to never be heard from or found again. They sent him an Inc.

As far as Insurance replacements go - I think it all boils down to what they have in stock. If they are out of re-ferb DInc's then they will send you a re-ferb DINc2 or equivalent. It's kind of the luck of the draw.

Tried this today, no dice. Mainly because my phone is past the 1 year warranty date, so she was pushing me to use my scheduled upgrade.

LOL It's tough to wrangle a warranty replacement on an out of warranty device. But, always worth a shot!

Yeah, I know. I tried to push the angle that my phone was fine until they pushed a half-baked GB update that made my phone glitchy. She tried to sell me the Samsung Stratosphere 2 for 1 deal.

Out of curiosity I tried the VZW support chat. The agent tried to tell me that my photos were disappearing because we don't have 4G in my area yet and so the 3G network was overloaded. When I pointed out that I was referring to locally-stored photos, she responded that all photos are hosted both locally and on the network.

As a lark, I commented on this ridiculous answer to the VZW twitter account...and they're now trying to figure out why photos disappear, Sense restarts, etc. I don't expect anything useful will come of it, but it's an interesting experience with the various levels of VZW sales/support.

As for getting it replaced outside of warranty, what VZW did for me was add the extended warranty for 2 bucks so that the computer would let them send out a replacement, then I was able to take it off. It's prorated so it only cost pennies.

VZW Support tacked on a $30 upgrade discount to my line for my trouble. Still don't know if there's anything I really want to spend money on. Local store says Jackson is supposed to get 4G in April, but I've seen no official announcement yet.

Upon reflection, I think this is a good indication that it's time for me to jump headfirst into the Root-n-ROM world.

I had all the same problems until I loaded up CM7 been running it since last summer no problems at all.

I am running ICS on my original Dinc very stable and it is almost seamless makes me wonder why this phone wasn't considered for the upgrade I can't wait for the Optimus V ICS rom to be this stable. I'd flash to cricket or metropcs with this phone if they didn't throttle.

Been running CM since 6.0 on the Dinc. Currently flashing between CM7.2_RC1 and AOKP ICS build 28. I always go back to CM though. AOKP is nice, but they need to fix a few things. The fact that it runs and is stable for the most part is great. This two year old phone is going to stay with me for a bit longer.
