Dinc's getting old? Whats your thought?

nothing is better than the Dinc right now. alot of my buddies have different droids and others are converting from iphone. i had the D1, Evo is too big, ive played with the X, i played around with the captivate and a couple others. the Dinc's size is perfect, the screen is great. phone storage is perfect. i have no problems, no freezes, nothing.

Dumb question to ask IMHO... the INC Rocks.

They are dropping new phones every week it seems, so just pick a phone that you like. At some point the market will be saturated...if it isn't already.

I like the form factor of the Dinc. I think it will last you for your 2 year contract period.

I think some of us have this 'phone paranoia', like we have to have 'this weeks' new phone.

Just pick a phone that fits for you and call it good.

Can't be too old, I am waiting for Fedex to drop off my wife's Incredible as we speak. Now the buy one get any deal helped that decision, but she did gravitate toward the Incredible when we looked at them in store a month ago.

No sense trying to keep up with the latest and greatest; as soon as it gets in the hands of the public the next latest and greatest is announced.

i moved to the Dinc after 3 replacements of the DX....i have never looked back or regretted the decision! not one reboot, problem, love the feel.... not old to me!

I don't think the incredible is outdated or old in the least bit. It's my first Android phone and it has treated me very well so far.

I do have to agree with the OP about the merge/lexicon though, its very tempting. The one thing I don't like about the dinc is the lack of a physical keyboard so it looks like I might migrate over to the merge when it is released. We will see though.

Ahh! With the new Htc Merge coming out and the droid x and such are Dincs getting a bit out dated :0 they're even selling buy one Dinc. and get any phone free! Maybe to clear the way for Htc Merge ;0

Droid X is hardly a "upgrade" except in sheer size. The screen image isn't nearly
as good when running side by side with the Incredible(or Samsung Fascinate), especially
on high contrast and color HD YouTube videos like meteor impact earth as a
example.
While some "claim" to have good battery life on a DX with stock battery, I have
yet to see it. The 2150 extended battery in the Incredible smokes the X and there
isn't a good upgraded battery for the X yet.

I wouldn't be holding my breath for a good Motorola device, I'm sure HTC
will continue to have more refined, higher quality devices.
Next year's Samsung and HTC devices are going to be really awesome
on 4G !!

There isn't a phone out I would trade my Dinc for, I would love the same phone with a larger screen so until that happens I'm completely satisfied:)

I love my Dinc. Best phone I ever had. I used to get phone envy on new releases until the Dinc came along. My co-worker picked up a Fascinate and I messed around with it, and in no way did it compare to the almighty Dinc!

Count me in with the "Whaddya mean OLD" crowd. I find new things to do with my inc every week.

This week I scrobbled a 250Gb disk full of music, then played it via last.fm on our drive out to Cape Cod. While we were there I visited the Heritage Museum and took funky pictures of their antique car collection using Vignette effects.

The proprietor of the B&B we stayed at also enjoyed my demonstration of how to read the bar code on the "Google Places" sticker he had on his front window.

A week has yet to go by where I don't install a new app or change up the look of my home screens somehow.

Old? No way, I'm just getting started.

I really like mine and I got it the 1st month. With the 2.2 update it runs great now. As others mentioned, this is the first phone I have had that I'm not now looking to upgrade. The only thing I am wondering about now is that since it is getting an 'End of Life' from Verizon at the end of March....I am wondering just what will be available to replace it with at that time???

It never gets old, never a dull moment with my Dinc. There are a lot of great android phones out there but i'm very happy with what I have right now. A medium sized, powerful android phone that will last me until april of 2012.

Samsung A950>Samsung Alias>BlackBerry Storm 9530>HTC DROID Incredible

Its specs are still in line with newly released phones - 1GHz processor, 800x480 AMOLED/SLCD screen, up to 32GB storage capable, optical trackpad, WiFi, BT, GPS, Android 2.2, 8MP camera (!!), dual LED flash, 720p video recording, thinner than an iPhone 3GS.

That's right up there with the big dogs. Not everyone needs a 4.3" screen...

Hell, even Samsung's newest phones are only running Android 2.1 and some don't even have a flash on the camera.

The HTC Incredible is still a high-end phone. At least for now.

I love my Dinc. Period. I've played with people's Droid X, Droid, Droid 2, and Evo 4G. There is one thing that I would change, and that is better battery life (as with all high end smartphones, I knew what I was getting into). One thing I would add, although I don't care, is a front facing camera. The Dinc IS STILL THE BEST SMARTPHONE ON VERIZON'S NETWORK. Period.

The DInc is my first smartphone and I LOVE it. It is the perfect size for me and does more than I need it to.

Everyone I've shown it to wants one. Even my friends with iPhone 4s respect it as "equal," though to me open source makes it superior. I will gladly run it past its two year contract.

Now, if it died a horrible death tomorrow, I'd probably get a Droid 2. If it died two months from now, I'd get a Merge. The DInc's on-screen keyboard is OK enough but I'd like a real QWERTY.

But I'm doing everything I can to make sure the phone lasts well past its contract. I don't want any other phone until this one's kaput. The only thing I've changed is the battery; I've added the 1750 mAh one to ensure I can make it through a day of heavy use. And the battery fits without a Quasimodo cover.

This is the phone for me until it breaks beyond repair.
