What happened to the Direct Boot that we were promised with Android Nougat? Were there any changes to this between 7.0 and 7.1?
For example, I thought that the alarm clock was supposed to still work, even if the device reboots unexpectedly while you're sleeping.
I have a Nexus 6P running 7.1.1, but I see no evidence of apps using Direct Boot when the phone is restarted/powered on. In fact, the screen doesn't even show the time on the screen, let alone trigger any active alarms from the Clock app. I only see the security challenge, and if I don't enter my PIN/password in a timely manner, the speaker starts to thump and the phone shakes, but there's no other info or activity on the phone.
Thanks, Jerry!
