I know a ton of people hate Direct Share, but it made sharing to my most frequently used messaging contacts so much easier. I'm often having a conversation while looking up information to share or needing to share a location from Maps, etc. The Direct Share menu always showed text messages contact links for the people I had most recently texted. So easy and helpful!
However my phone just updated to Pie. The Direct Share contacts listed now are NOT my most recently or frequently messaged contacts, and weirdly includes Google Drive as well! The three actual contacts on there were people I had exchanged just a few messages with right before or after the update.
I've tried lots of things to fix it, like:
Rebooting my phone.
Turning Direct Share off and on again.
Texting people a bunch and having them text me back and checking the menu again before and after rebooting (one of my partners and I text constantly, he's still not on the list!)
Adding contacts I want to different contact accounts and then merging those contacts, in case Direct Share was pulling only from one list or excluding another.
No dice.
Direct Share seems broken! Ideas?
Other apps that let me create a direct share type link to a contact?
