Directions To Root

I've never attempted to root but (I'm gonna go ahead & do it)but since my Maxx is stuck on KitKat forever, I need some assistance since "we" had to get rid of the Note 7. Any help & guide would definitely help.

If you have the latest update for the Droid Maxx, you will not be able to root it.
