, data usage is a lot higher on 4g as well
why would you want to? I'm sure you have a legitimate reason, just curious.

So is battery usage better on 3G than on 4G?

I agree. I tend to believe there's no noticeable difference provided you can maintain a constant & stable 4G signal.I'm not sure about the turbo, but I set the droid Maxx to 3G only for a few days last year and there was absolutely no difference in battery usage.
Did I miss it here? Did someone mention the easiest way to switch from 4g to 3g? Also, I'm guessing no simultaneous voice/data on 3g.
Probably the best option is lte on/off for thunderbolt, which works on the Maxx. You have to turn off lte after each phone restart, if the turbo is like the Maxx.

Start the app, and the opening dialog box tells you what to do.
Definitely no simultaneous voice and data on 3G - there cannot be, by definition.
It's not that battery usage is better on 3G. But if you are in a spotty 4G area and your phone is constantly searching for signal that will eat up the battery. So if you are in a spotty 4G area that has a solid 3G signal you are better off switching to 3G so your phone can hold the signal better and not constantly searching. So is battery usage better on 3G than on 4G?
