Disable Home Button Animation? (Unlock Lag)

I've noticed that when I unlock my phone (via swipe, no security settings), I actually have to wait for the animation at the bottom of the screen to finish (the one where the three navigation buttons rise from the bottom of the screen) before actually doing anything on my home screen.

Is there a way to make the three bottom buttons appear as soon as I unlock? I'll quickly unlock my phone and tap Chrome or Messaging really quick, and nothing happens.

EDIT

A quick video of what I'm experiencing (sorry I can't post links yet):

Disable animations in developer options

Yeah, I tried that already, but it didn't help unfortunately. All that does is disable the animation of it rising from the bottom of the screen. It still takes a sec for the home buttons to appear after unlock. Would you say that the behavior in my linked youtube video is abnormal?

EDIT

Strangely, the lag doesn't appear to be there when enabling a PIN unlock. Kind of annoying though, I prefer just to have a swipe to unlock :\. I'm pretty disappointed with this phone, I might have to return it, which is a shame because I really wanted that removable memory (plus the $35 restocking fee and cost of the case and protector...). Samsung seems to be the best out there ATM which sucks because I've had my headaches with them as well.

I can tell you that's normal insofar as that's how mine on AT&T is working right now, too. However, I have to try really, really hard to try and hit an icon before the nav buttons display on the bottom...so it's really not an issue for me, personally. I do, however, wish you hadn't pointed it out, because now I can't unsee it :-P
