This has been posted before. The app on my phone required lock screen. I no longer using that app. I am trying to remove the lock screen. I have gone into my settings and cleared credentials and change my settings for the screen behavior. How do I permanently remove this?

Have you been able to successfully change the screenlock to None or Slide?

Is the phone encyrpted? Encrypted phones require a PIN or password,.

No its not. See I was using Android pay fir awhile and requires a pass code. Well I've stop using it now so I want my phone back to normal

Ok, go to Settings>Security>Screenlock. It should require you to enter your PIN. Then tells us what you see, or show us a screenshot. Is "None" or "Slide" completely absent, or is it there but greyed out?

Here's where I'm at. It's still locking

Go to Settings>Security>Device Administrators. Is anything else checked there besides Android Device Manager?

Also, did you uninstall Android Pay?

Yes I did uninstalled autopay. Everything looks OK on my side but I cannot get rid of this darn passcode.

**** me off that my new credit union debit card doesn't work with Auto pay. Now screw my phone up darn it

I believe the OP tried that already--mentioned it in the first post.

I don't want to do a factory reset. There has to be something obvious that I'm not seeing.

What do you mean by Autopay? Is that Android Pay?

Also, did you try unchecking Android Device Manager temporarily?

I ended up doing a factory reset. I did lots of research on the subject and it seems I did everything needed without success

disable all android settings to lock it. like power button and time delay etc. then setup the alternate with these settings.

basically you cant have no security because of encrypt, or simular policy. but if you use a third party lock it will conflict.

hope this helps
