Can I disable the Ota updates on the Verizon note 8 with a package disabled from the play store? I just got a Verizon note 8 and I am thinking of blocking the oreo update before i start using the phone as some have reported issues with the update that I would like to avoid until Samsung pushes and update to fix them.

As far as I know, you cannot disable OTA updates. You can refuse to update, but the notification that an update is available won't go away. As far as the Oreo update goes, I have the Verizon Note 8, and I haven't had any issues. Of course, not everybody has had the same experience I had.

What reported issues are you talking about?

People saying some of the options on AOD disappearing and worse battery life just to name a few.

Plus on the note 4 you could disable Ota updates through ADB without rooting the phone.

Can't disable OTA updates, it's embedded with some critical carrier services. Just download it. I've had it Oreo since it's been release and it's been great. Don't understand why people have so many issues. Didn't even do a factory reset.

the only problem I have had is Pandora not working right with my Kenwood car stereo and the lack of notification options
