Disable SIM (completely)

I want to disable my SIM completely so it wont dial up into any gsm node. Is there any app (and no, I don't want to remove the SIM, I'm looking for a on-the-fly-method to do it)?

If not is there any way to achieve this using android sdk?

I don't believe there is a way to do this. There are SIM locks that you can do but no disable the SIM entirely.

Why do you want to disable the sim? If you are letting someone else use your phone then you can lock certain apps,like on my note 5, I can require a fingerprint or password to open the phone app.

I just don't want to be tracked. I only use my phone on demand.

Well you could put it in airplane mode... It shouldn't access the sim

You can turn wifi on in airplane mode
