Question Disable split screen

How do I disable Gmail split screen

Try Gear icon at top right of your Gmail page, Settings, Advanced tab, Preview Pane, Enable toggle

Welcome to Android Central! Which device? If it's a tablet, then I don't believe you can turn that off completely. Rotating to portrait mode will get rid of the split screen, but it's essentially mandatory in landscape mode.
