Disable "Today's Forecast" Notification

Personally, I haven't disabled anything or removed the widget from the lockscreen, but I haven't gotten the notification for the past 3 days. Maybe they fixed something server side, and that's all it took?

Had it for a week and liked it but it just stopped. Quit working. Went on vacation. I hate it when things just stop working.....

Turning off both the lock screen and s-planner options in the weather screen does not get rid of the forecast for me, it still shows most mornings. In fact the only time it doesn't show is if the phone's wifi bug has raised its head during the night meaning it can't get the data!

I too have this problem in my Samsung Galaxy S6!!! Please do anyone know how to stop these irritating notification?

The only way I was able to disable the annoying Today's Forecast notifications I kept getting every morning was to install Package Disabler Pro (don't be cheap, it only costs $1.50) and disable the weather services on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Good luck!

My experience with all of this is that the notification only happens when:

- I have an alarm set
- The alarm goes off and I clear it
- I unlock the phone
- BINGO, the notification tone and the little cloud icon appears.

I have disabled every notification I can find with no luck. This morning I removed the Accuweather app.

I just reset the alarm, I waited for it to go off AND - no tone when I unlocked the phone.

If it mysteriously comes back tomorrow I will post again.

After I read this thread, I decided to ask Samsung for help in force stopping this accuweather app. They replied back to my query thanking me, but not giving me any answers. So again I filled out the Samsung help form online, and again they thank me for posting the question, but then did not reply with an answer. What a useless outfit.

I would prefer to completely uninstall the AccuWeather app, but I would be happy if I could just force stop this app.

And what is with all of the permissions that this weather app requires? Why does it need my emails, my contacts, and access to all my documents?

I removed the stock weather widget (accuweather) by long pressing then moving up to the remove at the top of the screen. Then I installed a 4x1 transparent weather (name of the widget/app) widget from the playstore and use it. It looks almost identical and you can disable all notifications within that widget. After that have never received another daily notification and it's been months now, after reboots and even the most recent ATT upgrade to operating system.

Yes! Long pressing the notification allows you into the Google AccuWeather app where the daily notifications can be disabled. It is curious that this cannot be done from Settings, and that force stop is also not available. I am led to believe that Google uses this app for more than just weather, considering how cemented into the android system this app currently is. We may never know.
I much prefer the TWN app - the weather network.

What I don't understand is that I only receive these notifications maybe once every two weeks. Weird.

This is one feature I hate on my s6 like it is just an loud text message at 7 am everyday...what a silly feature while they have about 5 other ways to access the weather just as easily as swiping

Hi everyone:
Go to widgets and search for the clock without the forecast (the same clock). If you have it then from the homescreen drag the one that have the forecast to the trash can to remove it. Then go again to the widgets and drag the one that does not have the forecast to the homescreen.

Same clock but a little smaller so you can add an additional line of apps in the homescreen.

I liked the notification.. But I don't get it anymore.
How do you activate it? I don't get it even with the alarm turned on

I would like it if it was more consistent...it randomly shows up and I find that really annoying

I also have tried to disable notifications with the Weather daemon app and you would think this would do it as it is this app that is making the problem but no. It is as if the app has a installed bug and does not work if the notification disabled box is unchecked in its app settings. You can only hope that Samsung will get Weather daemon to get on top of this but the chance of this would be small. Any way I think I may have found a work around with the notifications settings in the phone Sounds and Notifications- Ringtones and Sounds- Default notification sound settings. Today I have set the Default notification sound to silent as I have most of my apps installed etc set to no notification any way so not to get flooded with alerts for all apps installed every 5 mins etc. The notification alert sound is separate from text message alert sound thank god so here is hoping that I dont hear anything tomorrow morning after my alarm goes off. Another note is the weather report notification was alerted to me this morning before my alarm went off only because some one had sent me a text message before my alarm time setting and this Weather daemon app read this as my first contact with the phone for the day and sent the weather report notification 60 sec or so after the text message. So it not only the alarm. Who every programmed this Weather daemon app is very intelligent to input this very annoying intelligent VIRUS that reads your first contact for the day and then hits you with it own app message. Accuweather also have something to answer for as there settings do not work either as you would think disabling lock screen notifications in there settings would solve the problem all together but no this does not work either. They have obviously manipulated there programs together so if your want the use the clock weather widget on your S6 phone home screen you get hit with this for forced advertising.

Guys & Girls it is because you have EASY Mode enabled,
Go to SETTINGS - EASY Mode - HIT the Standard mode and voila open the weather app again and you will see that between the Use Current Location & Lock-screen S6 Weather Notification - Widget English.jpgyou now have a Weather Notification Disable the darn thing

Thumb of rule if an advanced setting is not visible in application on Lollipop always check Easy Mode is set to Standard Mode..
