Battery Doctor falls into the malware category. It is pretty sneaky. It throws out lots of ads and after a few days it installs a redirect app that causes firefox to always redirect to facebook. It was impossible to use Firefox because it always went to Facebook. It did not improve battery life either. The only way to get rid of this malware on an unrooted phone is to uninstall battery doctor and then uninstall/reinstall firefox. The upshot is that after going through this exercise, the beeping is gone. If you are going to do this, install battery doctor, disable the sounds, then uninstall battery doctor right away before it installs the Facebook redirect.
