Disabled samsung keyboard- now can't turn on my encrypted s3

I am in a weird situation. Few days back (I believe) I disabled samsung keyboard using nobloat app as i use adaptxt all time. But i have an encryption password and as samsung keyboard is disabled, i cant turn my phone on. I click on the text box for entering the device storage password when it boots, nothing happens (obviously)

I will appreciate any ideas or hacks to work around this issue, so that i will be able to use my phone.

Is there a way using command line to restore my keyboard app? I would ideally not want to restore/format my phone.

Ouch. Yeah, I got nothing.

I found your thread because my Note2 is deciding not to accept my encryption password at boot. I know it is the right password, but it won't take it.

I don't know what to do about your keyboard not showing up though. Sorry.

cheekoo, I'm kind of thinking out loud here. To use nobloat you need to be rooted, right? Are you on the stock ROM, or a modified one? Can you get into Recovery mode, and do you have a Nandroid backup that's not terribly old? Oh, and what version of the phone do you have (Sprint, Verizon, unlock international, ????)

yes it is rooted, but prolly no nandroid backup.

i wasnt even able to wipe the damn thing. how can i go to recovery mode. i tried by pressing vol-up+home+power, but it still asks for a password.

connected to pc and running ODIN, doesn't show there. (

Also, I am on stock ROM.

But i do have some backups from titanium pro to box.net/. But have never used them, so dont know how reliable they are. guess we will find out

Unfortunately im thinking format data was the only way ibgot around a "invalid password" when i used to run an encrypted s3 with sprint but cheeko have you considered a jig to force dl mode....

Thinking is if you can you injest samsung keyboard apk into proper folder and get it to let you in then nandroid and attempt uninstal or disable via app manager before nobloat or just freeze it not uninstall...

Are you running trwp or cwm. Cant remember which but i remember hearing one doesnt play well with rooted and encrypted devices

thanks for your reply. what do you mean by 'cheeko have you considered a jig to force dl mod'? if volUp + power +home -> yes I have tried it.

Any steps for format. I am at a stage where i don't mind doing that too!

No a jig is a like $5 gadget that fakes the phone into dl mode....regarding the format will it even respond to anything button wise orbthru usb on a pc/odin

If you look on amazon/ebay easy to.find if it gets you into dl then.pdin will work as usual soft brick recovery

An update on this.

I am able to open ClockworkMod Recovery mode. The option of 'wipe data/factory reset' does not work .. says - error mounting data. and error mounting '/sdcard/.android_secure'. any ideas?

Do you have a ROM zip file stored on your internal or external SD card from a prior flash? If so, what happens if you try to install that ROM?

What did you do to get it into recovery (earlier you said it asked for a password when you tried?

meyer - i tried multiple times in a loop. it worked forth or fifth time.
I dont hv the ROM i installed last time.

Would def love to hear that and im sure BOBman would too....but if you have recovery mode you should ALSO be able to make dl mode take as well so if you have a working nandroid flash it or worst case take a naked flash from goo or rom manager and flash via cwm /dl or odin

Good news is in current state it is recoverable saving of course a corrupt file somewhere...
