Hello,

How do we disable camera shutter sound on a LG V20. I tried mute and vibration in settings but did not work for me! Please help! I have a full unlocked unit of V20.

Most devices won't allow you to disable the camera shutter sound due to privacy issues.

This is true, though I've always been able to silence the phone and have it disabled. Perhaps the OP is in an area with stricter requirements, because this even works on my V20.

The only other option would be a third party app that has the option.

Yeah if you put the volume on vibrate or silence the shutter sound will be disabled.

I think its a mistake not to have an option to disable it permanently. Other phones have the option. If it was a privacy issue, they wouldn't disable it by turning volume all the way off.

It would drive me nuts if it was on all the time like the original poster is claiming. Sometimes you want to take a photo at a wedding, or during a graduation speech, or other occasions like that when everyone is quiet.

Like many have said, putting the phone on vibrate or silent usually does the trick. However I agree with you that it should be an option but I think LG packed so much into the camera app that they overlooked the obvious.

Or when you're trying to take a picture of something you're not supposed to be taking.
