Disabling data?

Curious what everyone is using (widget or hidden menu app) to disable EVDO data?

The reason I ask, I'm right on the verge of 1 to no bars of service in the house and frequently getting the alert that I am roaming. Needless to say I want to turn off all EVDO data and definitely do not want to roam at home.

I must be missing a menu somewhere that allows to disable evdo data and just run the radio and wifi. Found a few apps/widgets but nothing that seems to be working with CDMA radios.

On that note, has anyone found a fix to send/rcv MMS over wifi without 3G running?

quick settings

There is an app in the market called quick setting that gives you an option to disable your 3g connection. That's what I miss about my Evo. But this app solves the problem.

I've heard of people leaving the WiFi on. When the WiFi is on, 3G turns off. Changing the setting so Wifi is still on even when the phone is sleeping prevents it from switching back to the 3G

I'm using DCswitch on my Epic 4g (comes with a widget as well), works perfectly, and you still can receive and send text messages. I also believe connecting to wifi disables evdo 3g as well.

I second Quick Settings, is a free app and sits on the notification drawer. Has multiple settings to control your phone including a data toggle. Very easy and intuitive to use. Have it installed on the Evo and the Epic as well.

SwitchPro will solve pretty much all of your Switch needs.. Give it a try

Its one of the icons on the power control widget built into android. The other items on it are kinda useless though as they can pretty much be done from the drop down widgets in the stats bar.
