Disabling the OTA update notifications.

OK so I've had my nexus for over a year, and I JUST decided to root it a few days ago (wugs toolkit). A couple days after, I start getting the 4.2.2 update notifications. Is there any tried and true way to stop this? After reading about 4.2.2, I dont want to do the update. I downloaded FOTAKill.apk, but I'm not sure how to browse the system files.
