Disappearing Apps?

I've had a Hero for about two weeks now and spend quite a bit of time looking for Apps. What I've discovered so far about the Marketplace is that it's very User-unfriendly. Why is it that apps seem to be available for some Users and not others? There have been quite a few I've seen reviewed on websites and on You Tube videos that I would like to get, but when I do a search in the Marketplace, NADA! Is there an explanation for this problem?

some apps are only for certain versions like 1.5 - 1.6 - 2.0 - 2.1.
you cant get a 2.1 app if your still using a version below that

like google goggles it's for 2.1

and why are the prices in dollars yen pounds.. you would think as your viewing from the uk it would change prices so they all say pounds.. i mean how am i spose to know if Y150 is worth it or not without working it out.. pathetic..

Stop whining, get a currency converter app, and decide for yourself
