Disappearing Apps ?

I have the LG G5 phone. I have noticed something strange with this and other phones I have used. Certain Apps seem to disappear off the screen. When I check, it says the App was downloaded but the logo of the App is nowhere on any screen. What is going on? How can an App just leave the screen?

When you say they disappear off the screen, do you mean the homescreen? Is the app icon still in your App Drawer?
