Disappearing music

I don't see anyone else having this problem, but my Note8 is deleting or cutting short my music. I still have plenty of room in the phone and sd card but the music cuts off in the middle of a song or has disappeared completely. Anyone?

Are you saving your music on the SD card? If so, the card might be damaged/corrupted, which would cause files to randomly fail/disappear. If it's in internal memory, do you have any file cleaner apps or have set the phone to clear temporary files automatically? That might be mistaking your music files for cached/temp files and deleting them.

I don't understand. The music files are being deleted? Only music files and nothing else? And while in the middle of playing a song the file deletes itself?

The songs will play fine for the first couple of weeks after I purchase and download, could it still be a problem with the sd card? It was originally in an S5, the phone I had before this one. Also, once I start having trouble out of the file, I can't stream it from Amazon Music library either.

Mine got worse after the update, but it had already cut out two of my most recent purchases and deleted one of them entirely.

So far, all I find trouble with is my music. The songs will play for a couple of weeks after I purchase and download, then they start cutting off in the middle and my playlist skips to the next song. Eventually I can't find them at all. This is only happening with music I downloaded onTHIS phone. Any files I had previously, say from my laptop or old phone, still play fine.

It sounds like a problem with Amazon Music and not the phone. Check your Amazon account to make sure your Note 8 is properly registered as an authorized device.

Also, try clearing data on your Amazon Music app and log back into your Amazon Music account. It should re-download your music.

If the problem was with SD card, make sure you've backed up your media elsewhere. Hopefully it was just an insertion issue, but if it was fully inserted and it still failed, it WILL fail again (and if it does, it means your card is damaged, so I'd refrain from using it lest you want to lose more data).
