Disappearing notifications

So originally I was confusing this with another thread about "Phantom Notifications". However, I just witnessed twice today that I received messages on LinkedIn, received a push notification (LED blinking and all) only for it to disappear on it's own in only about 2 or 3 minutes.

Thankfully emails on LinkedIn also come to my email box so I was able to confirm the notifications were actually from something real. But I've very curious what's causing these to disappear without my interaction.

I checked battery settings to see if LinkedIn was set to sleep in some way but nothing is set there from what I can see. I've also witnessed this happen with the eBay app.

Any suggestions? Never experienced this on my past S8+ or S7.

Noticing more of these now. Just got an Xbox notification but disappeared after a few minutes.

Not sure if this is coincidental, but my the times I'm noticing these the phone is sitting on a wireless charging stand. I'm curious if the wireless charging is somehow conflicting with something on the phone causing a disruption of the notifications. Sounds like a stretch but realising I've never seen these occur any other times except on the wireless charger at work.

This was happening on my S8 as well and believe it has something to do with the "App Standby" feature in Android. What I did to fix the issue was to go into Settings>Device Maintenance>Battery>3 dots on the top>Advanced settings and then turn off App Power Monitor. After turning that off my push notifications no longer disappear.

I have an LG but was having the same problem and searching for a solution brought me here. Since each manufacturer arranges Android somewhat differently I suspect my solution is the same but finding it may take a different path. I found the offending permission to be Google Services NOT having permission to read instant messages. The path I fumbled into was: Settings>Apps & notifications > App permissions > Additional Permissions > read instant messages > (click the three dot menu)> Show System > (turn on) Google Serviced. This immediately and consistently solved the problem. I know this is likely too late for the originators but hopefully others will find the info useful.
