Disappointed with the S8 camera

Guys, gals. If the camera on the S8 is not up to your standards, by all means, return it. Get what you want. I for one could care less what reviewers, websites, some of you say about this camera. It's a camera on a phone for gosh sake. It takes a decent picture. Pixel may take a better picture but its a POS device on my opinion. The 99% of the time when I'm not using the camera on my phone is what's important to me.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but is it still possible to take a picture while recording video like the S6 can?

I figured it out. I wasn't able to because my video size settings were FHD (60 fps) where it does not allow you to take pictures while recording. With regular FHD you can take pictures while recording. I didn't realize I was in (60 fps) and that it wasn't able to do it with that setting quality.

It seems like an OK camera. Couple of shots taken yesterday - these are straight out of the cam, no mods. View images full size if possible. 20170426_162018.jpg 20170426_161818.jpg

This is the best Camera I've ever had on a phone but far. Sorry you are having trouble.
I must agree the Galaxy s8 camera app is amazing for photography. My older phone was a Nexus 6p and their Google camera app is okay but I'm not a pro photographer I don't know how to find tune all the camera settings and for the camera to automatically do everything is beautiful. Even in low-light Imaging it's awesome.

Coming from a moto z force. I had no clue how much better a camera could be. the autofocus on this phone is just ridiculously good. granted, the 21mp on the moto gave slighlty more detail on zooming in, but no way I'd trade that for reliable focus and low light capability.

Best phone camera I've ever had used. The iPhone 6S was good but this is much better. How to upload an image though lol?

Older discussion, but I thought I could chime in.

Would like to see some comparison shots. I wonder if maybe the g5 has a better coating of UV protection? I would check out using a polarizing filter over the s8 camera and see if you get better pics.

the s8 camera is fine the note 8 camera is far better, I also have the gear 360 it's great for live feeds and 3d viewing
